We aim to provide a high quality education at a competitive cost.

As a large group of schools we are able to benefit from economies of scale, and to provide cost-effective central services. As a result, our fees compare very favourably with other independent schools, and include many items which other schools charge as ‘extras’, such as public exam fees, textbooks and external careers advice.

Fees are usually paid each term in advance by direct debit, although monthly payment is possible for a modest service charge. Advance payment of annual fees attracts a 1% discount, and special arrangements are available for larger sums paid in advance.

In recent surveys by the Financial Times and the Sunday Times, GDST schools have been identified as offering best value for money on the basis of A-Level results and fee levels.

Bursaries and scholarships

The Bursary and Scholarship Scheme aims to ensure that GDST schools continue to be accessible to all students. All bursaries and scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic merit or economic need.

Overall 22% of students at GDST senior schools receive a bursary or scholarship to help towards their fees. This amounted to £10.1m last year, or 6.5% of the GDST’s annual fee income. For more information go to our Bursaries, scholarships and prizes page.
